lifetime lessons
February 24, 2010
you can live to be 100 and still have no more wisdom than you did at 1. i haven’t quite reached 100, but i feel that i ought to have more wisdom than i currently posses. i’ve got a solid 21 years to my name and still i find myself re-learning lessons time and again. however, i think that there are some lessons that are so vitally important that they demand an entire lifetime to learn, and even at the end of a life, to have found yourself with these lessons learned would be a miracle. in these i feel that i have wasted the 21 years i’ve been allowed thus far.
love. confession. self-control. joy. goodness. honesty. thankfulness. contentment. wisdom.
Father, heal my of my short-term memory. throughout my life you have taught me lessons in each one of these areas, but like an amnesiac i have forgotten what it was that i once knew. please plant each of these seeds within me, and raise up in me a fruitful, life-giving crop.
